Eric Mannheimer
Coach

The first time I meet Coach Conrey was in 1975, as a freshman football player at Churchill High School. As a retired coach myself, I know coaching Freshman was very challenging, but he made it look so easy. He had a passion for the game of football, as well as a zest for life. As a successful high school coach, he has accumulated his vast knowledge for the game and has created a program that builds winners on and off the field.

Coach Conrey has developed a system of training long snappers that has proven to be very successful. He is a master technician in teaching the art of football snapping and has refined the skills needed to be successful as a long snapper at every level of football, from Youth League to the NFL! His passion and commitment to this training surpasses any that I have seen throughout my time coaching football. If you or your son are interested and serious about the position of long snapping, this training is a must!

It is my pleasure to recommend Doug Conrey and Texas Long Snapping to you. I have known Doug for many years and have seen his work firsthand both in teaching snapping as well as speaking at various events including the Alamo City Coaches Clinic and the Texas High School Coaches Association Annual Coaches Conference. His “Coaching School” presentations have been so well attended that he has been a Guest Speaker for 3 years in a row. No other College or High School coach has ever presented this many consecutive lectures in the 89-year history of THSCA! Doug has a passion for teaching snapping a football that is unmatched… not many guys around like him!

“We had Doug come out and work with our long and short snappers on several occasions this past season. His attention to detail, his ability to communicate and his plan of action helped each of them improve and gain confidence. We credit him with their success and look forward to continue our relationship with him and Texas Long Snapping!”

“As a high school coach for over 30 years I always look for detail and repetition when sending kids to camp. My youngest son worked with Coach Conrey the past 2 years and is a D1 collegiate snapper. He and I both are impressed with Coach Conrey and his attention to detail while teaching the mental and physical aspects of snapping.”

“As a successful high school football coach, Coach Conrey has taken his knowledge of the game and incorporated it into his passion for teaching the skill of long snapping. We have been sending all of our long snappers, from middle school to our varsity, to him for several years and I can honestly say that we have not had a bad snap since our players have been trained by him. Coach Conrey’s attention to detail and his ability to connect with young players is evidenced by all of the snappers he has trained who go on to play at the next level. He is simply the best long snapping coach that I have ever seen.”

‘Doug Conrey does an outstanding job working with long snappers. At Reagan HS, we have been very fortunate to have Doug tutor many of our players over the last several years. He truly prepares the players to perform this “specialty” in a game situation.’

“Wow! Coach Doug Conrey has developed a program to help a dedicated athlete learn a skill that can take him from a high school starter to a college scholarship and even a chance to play at the professional level. Coach Conrey’s long snapper program gives a player the drills and repetitions to develop a skill that is the first and most important part of any kicking play in a game. His program also teaches the long snapper the mental focus that prepares him for his snap before he ever goes onto the field. I have enjoyed helping with many of the Texas Long Snapping clinics and it is obvious that Coach Conrey has a passion for teaching young athletes the physical and mental skills needed to become excellent long snappers, at any level.”

“Doug Conrey is a master of the long snapping craft. I haven’t hesitated sending my players to seek instruction from Coach Conrey in regards to improving their snapping skills. He is an unbelievable teacher and is one of the best instructors that I’ve been around when it comes to snapping. Coach Conrey also does an excellent job challenging his pupils and getting the best out of them, at all times. His resume speaks for itself, as many of his snappers are dominating the snapping game at the highest collegiate level. I have encouraged the long snappers that I have coached to seek his help each off season in order to improve their game and I will continue to do so. I would recommend anyone who wanted to take their game to the next level as a long snapper to contact Doug Conrey and Texas Long Snapping!”
