Coach Conrey, I want to thank you for all you have done for Joseph and I. Joseph had two great years on the varsity and not a single bad snap and you deserve the credit for what he accomplished. You taught him well. Our Houston football district does not have a category for All District LS, but if they did, he would be the unanimous selection! You are doing great work as you are helping a lot of young men figure out life. You worked wonders on my son, Joseph. God Bless you, my friend!

Coach

The first time I meet Coach Conrey was in 1975, as a freshman football player at Churchill High School. As a retired coach myself, I know coaching Freshman was very challenging, but he made it look so easy. He had a passion for the game of football, as well as a zest for life. As a successful high school coach, he has accumulated his vast knowledge for the game and has created a program that builds winners on and off the field.

Coach Conrey has developed a system of training long snappers that has proven to be very successful. He is a master technician in teaching the art of football snapping and has refined the skills needed to be successful as a long snapper at every level of football, from Youth League to the NFL! His passion and commitment to this training surpasses any that I have seen throughout my time coaching football. If you or your son are interested and serious about the position of long snapping, this training is a must!

My son, Reeve Brown has been long snapping since he was in Middle School. We made the decision to invest in his skills because the skill set that he needed was unique. Being a former High School Coach/ Special Teams Coordinator at several schools, even I did not have the technical knowledge of snapping.
Coach Conrey at Texas Long Snapping has this knowledge and a very precise process.

If your son is a snapper, he needs this training. There is no doubt that this skill played a role in the decision of the Head Coach at Angelo State University, when he offered Reeve a Football Scholarship.

Thank you, Doug Conrey. We brought our son Kory Garcia to you in January of 2022. He was extremely interested in long snapping, but due to an injury he experienced in 2021 we were unable to bring him sooner. In 9 months after starting his training with your program he was the starting long snapper at Cornerstone Christian High School. As he continued his journey with your program, he started getting the confidence he needed to look beyond High School and possibly long snap in college. After his senior season he received multiple offers to play.
He prayed long and hard and reminded himself of what you always said to him that “God already has a plan for you.” He is proud and excited to be a part of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor come this Fall of 2023. Thank you for all you’ve done for our son.

As I grew up playing football, I always aspired playing at the highest level possible. As I got into high school, I realized I was not the biggest guy on the field, but I decided I would overcome that with putting my faith in God and hard work. I wanted to be on the field and help my team as much as possible. When I first started long snapping my Sophomore year of high school, I knew zero mechanics, form, and the aspect of how to train safely as well as with quality. When I first trained with Coach Conrey and Texas Long Snapping in the beginning of my Junior year (August 2021), I could see how much time and work they had put into teaching their students, as well as having the mindset that everything done was for a reason. As I continued to train and work hard, I could see how the fundamentals and mindset they had planted into me had set in during games, training, and hard times when the training and life got tough. As I continued to train hard, God truly blessed me. I credit Coach Conrey and his staff a lot in helping me achieve my dream of playing college football as I am now on a full-ride Division 1 scholarship to the University of Central Arkansas! Go Bears!

Lisa and I can’t thank Coach Conrey enough for the guidance and instruction provided to Colby over these past three years. From the first long snapping session with Coach Conrey, it was obvious that he took this specialist position very seriously and encouraged both athletes and parents to do the same. The six-step program developed by Coach Conrey, when deliberately adhered to by the player, is a time-tested recipe for success that works for athletes of any caliber. Along with the six-step program, Coach Conrey also instructs on the importance of nutrition, sleep habits, time management, academic accountability, and most importantly, mental and physical preparation.
“Guys, turn your brain on and follow the six steps. When you do that, this skillset can pay for your college” are the words that resonated with us at that first session. Our initial intention in attending Coach Conrey’s sessions after Colby’s freshman year was to just find a way for Colby to eventually contribute on his high school varsity team. Standing 5’7″ and 220 lbs. at the time, his eventual varsity prospects were looking bleak. After just ten months of training, as just a sophomore, Colby found himself as the starting long snapper for the varsity team in a meaningful late season game (and never relinquished it). It was at that moment when Coach Conrey’s words began to sink in. I’ve never seen my son voluntarily dedicate as much time, effort, and energy on something as he has in working on improving his body condition and long snapping ability. Colby now has three D1 offers to play football, primarily due to the training and preparation provided by Coach Conrey and the Texas Long Snapping Staff. Not many “wide bodied”, 5&…

It is my pleasure to recommend Doug Conrey and Texas Long Snapping to you. I have known Doug for many years and have seen his work firsthand both in teaching snapping as well as speaking at various events including the Alamo City Coaches Clinic and the Texas High School Coaches Association Annual Coaches Conference. His “Coaching School” presentations have been so well attended that he has been a Guest Speaker for 3 years in a row. No other College or High School coach has ever presented this many consecutive lectures in the 89-year history of THSCA! Doug has a passion for teaching snapping a football that is unmatched… not many guys around like him!

Doug Conrey not only coaches “deep snappers,” he coaches character and work ethic to every young man that wants to succeed at this beautiful game of football.

The ability to “deep snap” is one of the deciding factors that made me one of the only two draft picks of the 1985 San Francisco 49ers that “made the team…” the other player was future Hall of Famer, Jerry Rice.

I cannot stress enough, if your son or grandson wants to not only be a better football player at the high school level but has dreams of “getting to the next level,” then sign him up to train with Texas Long Snapping!

“Walking Parker Haby up to Texas Long Snapping two years ago was one of the
best decisions Jennifer and I could have ever made. Coach Conrey doesn’t just
build great snappers. He builds men of faith and of great character. Parker wasn’t
the biggest or the fastest. But after one season with Coach Conrey he became the
starting varsity snapper as a junior. He went on to have an offer to sign with
Angelo State University before his senior year and is headed there in the fall of
2022. We as a family rely heavily on the verse Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the
plans I have for you..”. God had great plans for Parker and we know that Texas
Long Snapping and Coach Coney were a huge part of fulfilling those plans.”

“I have been with Coach Doug Conrey, the founder of Texas Long Snapping, for a little more than a year now. From when I started long snapping until now, I have made tremendous progress which has allowed me to sign with Blinn Junior College for the Fall 2022 football season. The long snapping skills that are taught, the drills that we do, and the overall experience has just been phenomenal. Coach Coney has been more than just a coach, he has been a mentor on and off the field. I seem to call him at least once a week just to check in with him and let him know how things are going. He has taught me and prepared me for the college level and I know his coaching will continue with me over the next four years, even if it’s just over the phone. There have been times my mother has reached out to Coach Coney just to get his advice on some things; he didn’t mind one bit and he always followed up.

Coach Doug Coney & Texas Long Snapping have truly been a blessing for my family and me over the last year. Even though it was I that actually had to put the work in, I know I wouldn’t be where I am today or where I’m going if it wasn’t for Coach Conrey. He believed in me, pushed me to be a great long snapper, and taught me to be a better man in life. Of course, he jumps your case when you need it, but he’s only trying to make you better and teach you the correct way to long snap. He always preaches about getting enough sleep, taking care of your body, and making sure your grades are good, but it’s all for a reason. Joining Texas Long Snapping was the best decision my family and I ever made. I will forever be grateful to Coach Doug Conrey and I hope to make him proud as I enter collegiate football. Go Bucs!!”
