I joined Texas Long Snapping my sophomore year of high school. Compared to others, I got a late start on snapping, but Coach Conrey quickly taught me how to snap a football and directly helped me progress in my training. Coach Conrey has a total hands-on instruction approach, which helped me tremendously as I was able to become proficient in my skills almost immediately. TXLS’s intense and focused workouts helped me keep my snapping and general football training in line. Every Sunday I spent snapping I felt ready to take on another week of football workouts with full effort. Coach Conrey’s program is not just about snapping but becoming a mentally-intense animal on the football field. TXLS allowed me to achieve great feats in sports, but in life beyond football. Using the mental tools taught in TXLS I was able to keep my priorities in line and achieve my goals in all aspects. Even out of high school, I am very grateful for the mentor relationship I still have with Coach Conrey and the TXLS program as a whole. I highly recommend to anyone that has an interest in becoming an outstanding long snapper to begin training with Texas Long Snapping, you won’t only become a great snapper, but a better overall athlete and success-driven individual.

Through these last six years, my life has been changed for the best with the lessons I’ve learned from Coach Conrey and Texas Long Snapping. Working on a unique skill for football has allowed me to reach heights and achievements I didn’t think I could achieve. From practical lessons to mental lessons, I’ve gained valuable skills I can use in all areas of my life. I owe a substantial amount of success to Coach Conrey for getting me to where I am today. I hope to see you at a game one day Coach! Dawgs up!

I am so glad to hear that you are continuing to share your wisdom and experience with coaches and young people alike. I remember when you helped a pencil-necked Center put on 30 pounds of strength, and taught him a unique skill set, that carried him forward in the all-star games and a good start to a successful college experience. You instilled confidence and love for snapping in particular and doing things right in general. Your success with me was due to the creation of invincible pride at never screwing up a snap and the fine art of knowing where it was going, laces ¼ to the right, at 14.5 yards. Telling the punters where the ball and laces would end up at any distance was fun. Knowing I could do it every time took away all fear and dread. I was a nuisance to place holders in college wanting results from every attempt. You taught me these things through your patience and demeanor. Thank you.

Coach, been thinking about you a lot recently. I can’t wait to get back to work with you when I get home. All of my snaps have been perfectly on target so far, Coach Rocco has praised me and said that for my age, I’m the best snapper that he has ever seen! Because of that, he scooted my punter back to 15 yards. All of the snappers still in high school will realize how much you need everything you have taught us. The mental part goes long way. I’m going in against Kilgore JC ready and confident in myself. I thought I’d be nervous, but the breathing and self-talk help me a lot! The high schoolers will quickly realize this when they go to college!

Tracey and I want to thank you for all you’ve done for Evin, not only with his snapping but also by being a great example of putting God first in all things and how if we Him, He will lead us and bless us. Thank you so much for putting Ev in contact with other awesome young men, especially Brent and Tusker. He now has a special relationship with both of them and Tracy and I couldn’t be happier. Evin is excited to keep in touch and follow Tucker’s career and is equally excited to continue working with Brent. We have no doubt God used you to place both of these young men in Evin’s life. Please let us know next time you’re in town we’d love to meet up with you.

“Coach Conrey and the Texas Long Snapping staff have had a huge impact on my career thus far. When I met Coach Conrey I had minimal knowledge and passion for long snapping. Throughout high school and college, I have developed skills and increased my knowledge in the art of long snapping; both the mental and physical aspects. My passion for the position of long snapping has grown more than I could have ever imagined; some may even say I am in love. I am so very blessed that God brought Coach Conrey into my life. I thank God that I can represent Coach Conrey’s almamater, Sam Houston State University.

Sonny Detmer
Coach

“As a successful high school football coach, Coach Conrey has taken his knowledge of the game and incorporated it into his passion for teaching the skill of long snapping. We have been sending all of our long snappers, from middle school to our varsity, to him for several years and I can honestly say that we have not had a bad snap since our players have been trained by him. Coach Conrey’s attention to detail and his ability to connect with young players is evidenced by all of the snappers he has trained who go on to play at the next level. He is simply the best long snapping coach that I have ever seen.”

Marshall Fleener
Coach

“Wow! Coach Doug Conrey has developed a program to help a dedicated athlete learn a skill that can take him from a high school starter to a college scholarship and even a chance to play at the professional level. Coach Conrey’s long snapper program gives a player the drills and repetitions to develop a skill that is the first and most important part of any kicking play in a game. His program also teaches the long snapper the mental focus that prepares him for his snap before he ever goes onto the field. I have enjoyed helping with many of the Texas Long Snapping clinics and it is obvious that Coach Conrey has a passion for teaching young athletes the physical and mental skills needed to become excellent long snappers, at any level.”

“Doug Conrey is a master of the long snapping craft. I haven’t hesitated sending my players to seek instruction from Coach Conrey in regards to improving their snapping skills. He is an unbelievable teacher and is one of the best instructors that I’ve been around when it comes to snapping. Coach Conrey also does an excellent job challenging his pupils and getting the best out of them, at all times. His resume speaks for itself, as many of his snappers are dominating the snapping game at the highest collegiate level. I have encouraged the long snappers that I have coached to seek his help each off season in order to improve their game and I will continue to do so. I would recommend anyone who wanted to take their game to the next level as a long snapper to contact Doug Conrey and Texas Long Snapping!”

“Training with Coach Conrey of Texas Long Snapping was the sole reason I became a great Snapper. I perfected my craft and achieved more accolades than I could have ever dreamed of because of the guidance he gave me. In the two years I was with him, I learned countless and immeasurable lessons – both on and off the field. The most important lesson I learned from Coach Conrey was “If at first you don’t succeed, listen to what your coach tells you to do!” Thankfully, I did!”

“Texas Long Snapping and Coach Conrey have had a profound impact on my life and athletic career over the last six years. Coach Conrey taught me rock solid technique in junior high. Having such a strong foundation has allowed me to perform with confidence in several high-pressure situations. Coach Conrey has made each 3-hour drive at 5am from Houston worthwhile. He not only is an expert on the skill itself, but he places heavy importance on the mental approach and personal faith development. It is obvious he cares about each and every one of his snappers. I owe a great deal of my success to the Texas Long Snapping program. Through Coach Conrey’s training sessions, I have learned how to train, and how to perform in high-stress situations. Without Coach Conrey, I would not be in the position I am today.”

“I didn’t start snapping until my junior year. Texas Long Snapping not only helped make me better for my Senior season, but also since working with Coach Conrey I earned a spot on the UMHB team roster to play for them in the fall. I drive almost 2 hours every other weekend to train with Coach Conrey and it has been worth every mile. Coach Conrey doesn’t sugar coat anything and pushes you to be the best deep snapper you can be – both physically and mentally.”

“Thank you doesn’t seem like enough to express my gratitude to you for all the help that you gave Connor these last few years. Besides teaching him how to snap, you definitely left a lifetime mark on his life, as well as mine. When he played his last game and I knew that was the end of his football career, there were lots of tears, but for me, it was overwhelming pride on what he had accomplished. Through your encouragement, coaching and his hard work he realized his dreams of playing high school football. Coach Conrey, thank you!”

“Coach Conrey has developed a program which addresses all aspects of the Long Snapping position. His program teaches mental preparation, sideline preparation and the six-step process to a successful snap. Beside the physical preparation, he discusses with the players the essential elements required to progress to the next level. His portfolio of players who have worked through the program and succeeded at the college level speaks highly of his knowledge and dedication to teaching. Coach Conrey has been so instrumental with my son’s progression as a Long Snapper. I feel very fortunate to have Coach Conrey as a mentor for my son.”
